  • What is the Gas Safe Register?

    The Gas Safe Register is a list of businesses that are legally permitted to carry out Gas work under the trading name that they have registered with.

  • What does it mean to be gas safe registered?

    The Gas Safe Register, gas registration scheme is owned by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)


    Its purpose is to protect the public from being exposed to unsafe gas work. Being a Gas Safe registered business means that you are legally allowed competent and safe to work with gas.

  • Do you have to use a Gas Safe Engineer to service or repair a gas boiler?

    Yes, anyone working on gas boilers, or anything that involves gas in the UK, Isle of Man, Guernsey, and Jersey is legally required to be registered with Gas Safe Register. 

  • How can I check if a heating engineer is Gas Safe Registered?

    To check if an individual engineer is currently Gas Safe Registered you will need to know their unique 7-digit license number. You can find this on the engineer's Gas Safe ID card. Once you have this number, you can check online at the Gas Safe Register website.
