Frequently Asked Questions
  • How Often Should You Service Your Boiler?

We recommend that you should have your boiler serviced at least once a year. By having an annual service will help to ensure that your boiler is operating safely and efficiently.

  • What Are The Signs That My Boiler May Be Broken?

Loss of heating and hot water.

  • Are Your Heating Engineers Gas Safe Registered?

Yes, all of our heating engineers are Gas Safe Registered.  Being Gas Safe Registered means that we are legally allowed and qualified to carry out work on your gas boiler.

  • Do You Service All Makes and Models of Boilers?

Yes, we are happy to work on all leading manufacturers boilers. We specialise in Worcester Bosch Boilers and are accredited installers.

  • Why Is The Water Pressure Low?

This is perhaps the most frequent cause of a boiler shutting down. Boilers need a specific amount of water pressure to circulate heat throughout your home. If the pressure drops too low, the system will lock out for safety.

The Sign: The pressure gauge on the front of your boiler is below 1 bar (usually in the red zone).

The Cause: Often caused by a small leak in the system or recently bleeding your radiators.

  • Why Aren't My Radiators Warming Up Properly?

If your radiators are cold at the top but warm at the bottom, or if the boiler is making whistling noises (known as "kettling"), you likely have trapped air.

The Fix: You’ll need to "bleed" your radiators using a radiator key to let the trapped air out.

  • What Has Caused My Pilot Light To Fail?

Older boilers use a permanent flame (pilot light) to ignite the gas. If this goes out, the boiler won't fire up.

The Cause: A strong draft, a deposit buildup, or a faulty thermocouple (a sensor that detects the flame) could be the reason it won't stay lit.

  • How Much Does A New Boiler Cost?

New boilers start from £1,950 ex VAT. We will happily visit your home or business, assess your current situation and give a recommendation on the best type of boiler for you.

We will also follow up with a quotation.

  • How Much Do You Charge For A Boiler Service?

  • Do You Provide Gas Safety Certificates?

  • How Much Do You Charge For A Commercial Boiler Service?
